TOWN HALL MEETING
Pershing Co. Lands Bill
The Pershing Co. Board of Commissioners will hold a Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, 6:00 p.m., at the Pershing Co. Community Center, 820 6th St., Lovelock, Nv. The meeting will focus on discussion and comments related to wilderness, wildlife and orhter special interests affected by the proposed Wilderness Lands Bill (Pershing County Economic Development and Conservation Act). Specific topics of discussion and comment will include, but are not limited, to the following: Disposal of Specified BLM Lands; Disposition of Proceeds; Authorized Land Conveyances; Conveyance of Specified BLM Lands to Pershing County (Unionville Cemetery); Designation of Specified Wilderness Areas; and Release of Selected Wilderness Study Ares. (there will be another meeting on May 18,2016, for overview of all three meetings)

Lapidary class can teach you the basics of cutting and shaping cabochons. The process takes you through the steps of selecting a slab of stone, drawing a design, using a trim saw to cut the stone, and shaping and polishing your cabochon. The class also covers the basics of shop safety and how to use lapidary equipment.
Another season of fun field trips is over and there will not be any new trips until May of 2014. Come to the March and April meetings to find out what trips are on the schedule.
The Reno Gem & Mineral Society is hosting its 48th Annual Jackpot of Gems Show on May 11-12 at the Reno Livestock Events Center.
Our annual Christmas party potluck is scheduled for Saturday, December 8.

The RGMS Fall Craft Fair will be held once again at the Reno Town Mall, or for those of us who have grown up here, Old Town Mall on Virginia Street across from the Convention Center.
